Lee only published two books in her life, but she was awarded the Presidential Medal of freedom in 2007as a reward for her contribution to literature. She earned several Honorary degrees but never spoke on any occasion. When her close friend was researching for the book In Cold Blood, Lee helped her friend Truman Capote.
The basis to write her novel To Kill a Mockingbird was Capote. This book mainly consists of the observations from lee’s life, her family, neighbors, and that events occurred near their house in town in 1936 when she was ten years of age. She wrote another novel as a sequel of this novel named Go Set a Watchman, published in 2015.
There are numerous copies of this novel sold and also widely read in educational institutions. This was the author’s first book before the publication of the Go Set a Watchman that was an earlier draft of To Kill a Mockingbird, published on 2015 July 14.
